Adelaide is the capital of South Australia and is the most populated city that is the fifth largest in Australia. It has a population of 1.1 million. Out of them Mount Bold Reservoir and Happy Valley Reservoir together supply 50 percent of the city’s necessities.
Adelaide has Mediterranean climate with hot summer. Rainfall could be observed during winter. Adelaide is the only city in Australia out of all the capital cities that has dry and semi-arid climate. In the month of June you can see heavy rainfall around Adelaide. Due to this type of climate you cannot find snowfall around except in Mount Lofty and few other places in the Adelaide Hills.
More than half of the population in Adelaide is Christian. You will find a large number of churches around. Hence, Adelaide is also called as ‘The City of Churches’.
