Have you ever seen the film Nashville? It was an Oscar winning movie, released in the year 1975. Not only this, Nashville has been portrayed as the self-styled Music City USA with Dolly Parton, the Grand Ole Opry, Robert Altman’s Oscar winning movie that I said as Nashville and the Country Music Hall of Fame. A small time that I spent in Nashville but there are still so much to see. Driving to the downtown takes a long time. The Cumberland River could be found in shape of zig zags through the city. Well, it is a fact that Nashville’s population is same like of Calgary. Also the size of this city is comparable.
However, downtown is too small, but its road network makes the transportation easy. Nashville is among the cities in ‘70s that has experienced urban decay. This was one among the reasons as Grand Old Opry has shifted to the suburbs. All I could say is away from the crime and decrepit neighborhood, and people simply feel frightened to head towards the downtown. But today, all these has changed because of urban renewal. When you will drive towards the downtown core, two phenomenal buildings will welcome you. The architectural designs are truly inspiring. With the Convention center and arena, this city has today lots of amazing older buildings. Despite the fact that the buildings have renovated, its glory never fails to impress the visitors.

So, I thought to explore the city by driving and the first stop of mine was at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. From here, you can take the tour bus to explore the Historic RCA Studio B recording studio. I bought admission ticket to enter both of them but still have 15 minutes to get down the bus. For that reason, I started chitchatting with a man who was actually the volunteer of the Museum. He mentioned something about Music, other visitors interrupted in between, and we had fun with each other. That was a great time to interact and know about those people and share few of the words.
The Studio B tour was very impressive and I learnt many things about it as this studio recorded many hits. Built in the year 1957 this studio was leased to RCA Victor. The tour proved beneficial as it offered amazing recollection of stories. We heard so much during the tour that everyone listed to it silently assuming as if it was happening in front of us. After the tour, we returned to the museum wandering around and spent some time by looking at the display. One can easily spend few days by reading all of the information given on the displays. I went to the gift shop and bought 100 songs of Elvis Platinum Collections. In addition, I purchased two CDs that were recorded at Studio B and a book named Live Like You were Dying.
The Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum was my next plan to visit, as I was couple of blocks away from it. Seeing the Parthenon made my dream come true. It is the only life size replica in this entire world of the one in Athens. It was originally built to be a temporary structure but later when they went to rip it down, huge protest made it to rebuild into a permanent one. Then I went ahead to Ryman and walked towards the riverfront to see Fort Nashborought. It is a small replica from the original settlement. A city has to offer so much of things so went around by walking various streets and enjoyed some of the famous bars and restaurants for few days. These streets remain crowded, especially during Saturdays.

Spending a time at Grand Old Opry in Ryman was memorable. I was waiting for the show to start so started chatting with a person next to me. It was a radio show which I experienced by sitting at the second row in the middle of the stage. The city not only features old times but it also offers stylish American city with glittering Skyscrapers, legendary bars, hospitality, pleasant climate, scenic hills and much more. Nashville always focuses in the mind of every tourist when he thinks about the America’s Country Capital.
Earlier this city drawn many hunters’ attention and today it became a well-known place for music lovers. Without country music, no one will know even the name of Nashville. This city pays homage to its musical heritage improving the vibrant future of Nashville. The month of June welcomes fans and stars to be a part of International Country Music Fan Fair. This is a best time I have spent here, but for the shortage of time I couldn’t make it all. Unfortunately, due to some work I had to went back to my place, but I am glad that I have planned few days with the cold weather to this magnificent city of Nashville.
