Orlando: A world of theme parks and attractions

When it comes about the city of Orlando, everyone knows that this city is a set of theme parks. After 1966, influx of tourists increased and this resulted into a huge income for the economy of Florida. Well, no doubt, North America has plenty of amazing attractions that has worth to visit. So tourists throng to Orlando again and again just to enjoy and make their heart satisfied. Same happened with me when I went for the first time in Orlando to know why exactly Orlando is so famous. I got to know when people say ‘Orlando’ suddenly few words flow into my ears and that words are Walt Disney. And I found out that Orlando’s popularity is mostly because of the credit of Walt Disney World Resort.

Walt Disney’s the original Magic Kingdom was built in the year 1971 that took five consecutive years to complete this programme giving a pleasant surprise to the tourists and its visitors. After this attraction in Orlando, Disney has added three theme parks, two water parks and also a host of associated development that comprises of hotels, shops and golf courses. Overall, these attractions were been made to make Orlando a true ‘World’ resort. My goal to visit the city of Orlando was to explore all of these worthy attractions. Slowly gradually, Orlando has received immense amount of credits when it added the SeaWorld which is three theme parks and also the Universal which has two. This made Orlando a family entertainment capital of the world.

The SeaWorld and Universal draws some 50 million visitors every year and due to this the city has experienced a boom of hotels, restaurants and shops that also host small scale attractions. However, this city is not only depending on tourism but it is also owned its identity from high-tech industries and become a huge cultural centre. Also it is the second convention location in America. As 99 percent of the visitors in Orlando remains at the theme parks I planned to explore all of them within a week. So the major attractions of Orlando where I visited and really had a great time here are the Walt Disney World Resort which is very old and world popular, Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld Orlando, Discovery Cove and Kennedy Space Center.

After exploring all these attractions I wandered through the streets of Orlando and enjoyed some other sightseeing attractions as well. Well, you can easily spend a week at Walt Disney World Resort as it host few more attractions and enhances the interest of people. And when it becomes family oriented parks then who will stay behind without enjoying them? I could say that most of the Americans would have visited these amusement parks and made memorable days in their life. The SeaWorld Orlando has Caribbean themed hands on Dolphin Park, its flagship main park and also a brand new water park. Anyways, these parks also provides dining, shopping and entertain districts with some other features for the comfort of visitors.

Small scale attractions like Wet ‘n Wild water park, Skull Kingdom haunted house, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Museum and a host of good restaurants and shops has worth to visit. Towards the southern direction Kissimmee is located that adds some more attractions into the list of visitors where they can try some wonderful activities like airboat rides, horse riding, tremendous mini golf, fishing and hiking. I reached to this city from Orlando International Airport that lies at a distance of 14 kilometres towards southeast of Orlando city centre and also 35 kilometres towards east of Walt Disney World Resort. People who are coming from UK can take a fight to Orlando Sanford International Airport which has become a main UK gateway for most of the British tour operators and also for US low cost carriers.

The city’s transportation is very much developed so I went around by hiring a car. Also I did lots of shopping as the city is truly world class for the same. The city has everything when it comes about shopping like from flea markets to tourist traps to outstanding designer label malls. Wherever you go in the city shopping will prove the best experience for you. So I wish to visit such a magnificent place again with my friends who haven’t yet explored it. Those who want to explore this breathtaking city should check out first from their embassy whether they require any visa or not. Otherwise, a valid passport is all that is needed to explore the city of Orlando and make it a perfect holiday in life.

At the time of exploring also try the speciality of this place. Most of the fine restaurants could be found close to the theme park capital of the world. You can enjoy the cuisine that ranges from American to the finest of French, Continental, Italian, Spanish and Japanese. Well, the Chinese, Cuban, German, Mexican and some more cuisines could be found at this place that increases the energy of visitors. So make a change from your daily routine and visit this breathtaking place called Orlando.
