The Queenstown is situated in one of the New Zealand’s province known as Otago. The Queenstown is surrounded by beautiful Southern Alps Mountains and rests beside Wakatipu Lake. Town’s most of the magnificent views are Remarkables and mountain ranges whose peaks are covered by the blanket of snow and it was this that attracted Lord of the Ring crews.

For some awesome view of the town, the best way to tour is the Skyline Gondola. It’s one of the best way to explore the town and can see some of the breathtaking scenic views. Each year this cable car attracts many tourists. Gondola opens from nine in the morning to six-thirty in evening. Just beside the Gondola is The Kiwi and Birdlife Park. It is a shelter house for many endangered birds. You will get see birds like owls, some rare black Stilts and also two houses for kiwis.

In evening visit the Maori Concert and Hangi, which is just along on the memorial street. There you will have some Southern New Zealand cuisine to taste and will get to see unusual way of cooking. The food is heated on Stone rocks and nothing else. The way of cooking is traditional way known as Hangi. The place is not only famous for its delicious food and unusual way of cooking but also for Live Maori entertainment. The place is always flooded by tourists so you have to book in advance in order to dine there.

The Underwater World near Milford Deep Underwater Observatory is the other attraction here. It’s just near Para bungee and Twin Rivers Jets is done. Its an underwater gallery where you will get to see marine life around the place. The main attraction is the ducks that dive into the water.

Winery Tours are organized tours in Otago where you will be able to taste some of the New Zealand’s scrumptious wines. The whole tour is about five hours and has four stops at different wineries. The central Otago Wine Tours also offer small excursions which are quite famous among tourists.

Except for sightseeing around the town, adrenaline junkies’ flocks come here to experience the adventurous sports that this town offers. Bungee jumping is famous among many tourists and has many spots like AJ Hacket Bungy on the corner of Camp Street and Shotover Street, the Kawarau Bungy Centre on the close to historical Kawarau Bridge, and the Ledge Bungy at the apex of the gondola. At more than hundred meters / three hundred and twenty eight feet high, the Pipeline jump from a local suspension bridge is also more daring for the thrill seekers. The other most daring sport is Skydiving. It also provides a good aerial view of the Queenstown. The flight takes off from Coronet Peak.  You can also try Canyoning which is a half day journey in the Delta canyon. There you will get to do rock climbing, abseiling and much more. The other sports activities like jet boating, mountain biking, river surfing, white river rafting are some of the sports done here.

As the town is always filled with more than thousand tourists who come from different countries to freak out and have fun. The town promises some very good environment for partying. During winter, the nightlife is very much vibrant and happening. Here, you will find variety of bars, pubs and clubs which play mix music according to the crowd they get.
