Even weekly international passenger ferries run between the Taiwanese Keelung and Kaohsiung ports and Naha, the capital of the southern Japanese-island of Okinawa. There is also an overnight ferry, which takes from sixteen to twenty hours to reach Keelung and departs from Okinawa on Thursday or Friday.
